Literary narrative as motor of history.
Will Postwar be nothing but "events," newly created one moment to the next? No links? Is it the end of history?
All understanding is narrative based. Narratives drive historical events and the historical events feed back into new narratives. Poetry precedes culture. Therefore, reading literature and especially poetry is the best way to understand history.
The writing and interpretation of history is primarily a literary endeavour.
